Why Unity?

We live in a time of unparalleled promise, and unprecedented peril. The level of discontent and discord in the public sphere, is of epic proportions, and our people feel a lack of ability to effect meaningful change. Frankly we suffer from a lack of vision, imagination, clear thought and analysis of the issues at hand, as well as an inundation of falsehoods perpetrated by those who pay for destructive ideas for the future, based on ill gotten gains of the past. Finally, we are are really, really and truly at the edge of climate disaster; our economic systems, infrastructure and knowledge base are deteriorating.

We believe that we also stand not simply near a precipice, but equally close to a stairway to the heavens, a new understanding of ourselves our world, and one another, as individuals and as our greater life mass of humanity. Our technology has evolved to near magic, and it permeates every aspect of our lives, the knowledge, skill, and sweat of millions in the present and the past, affect every item we touch day to day, and while there are certainly unintended consequences of that power have real dangers, like all things, in moderation, in balance, it will make the wildest science fictional utopia or the garden of Eden seem like the accountants description of monetary policy.

Unity is here to provide that vision, and the sort of clear, cohesive thinking that brings solutions to the problems that plague humanity. We will make miracles, the kind that tightly knit cooperation between people who believe in what they are doing, moving in reasonable steps toward grand mutually shared vision of a better world for all.

There are things which need to be done; and if they need to be done, we all need to make it happen.

We will decide what policies are best, and make them real, using whatever resources, non profits, governments at all levels.

Our clarity of action will come from shared education; the bonds of learning together will make our respective differences seem smaller. Because many of humanities problems come from a lack of knowledge; we must learn the basics of knowledge to solve them.

We will be asking people who can spend some time, for it; and for those who can afford it, money. to work, share, learn, and grow. Everyone contributes ideas, and they are recorded, we decide what is best, and understand why the choices were made, do, evaluate, repeat until we have the basics needed for future growth.

Fight when we have to, but always build better, things that can be reused, take better care of ourselves and one another, keep learning.

Life, liberty, the pursuit of happiness, healthy, well educated, and contributing to society in meaningful ways we appreciate, balance with nature and ourselves as part of it, the universe, and a reconciliation of divisive terms, that turn out to be not so different after all.. these are the least specific, but ultimate goals of all we seek to do.

Lets talk, lets plan lets, work, to make a better future.
